Manchurian man - Day 7/365

Image
Day 7 Manchurian man micron Well, there goes a week! That was a good start. Was quite easy to establish the habit, I think having a spot to do it in every night definetely helps. I am not so busy with life at the moment so they are easy to do, with the only limiting factor being my energy levels. Heres to another productive week!

Worried Cowboy - Day 6/365

Image
Day 6 Worried cowboy micron + staedtler Didn't have too much energy today but got one out anyway. I think the days I don't have so much time will obviously provide lesser results but I don't think time necessarily equates to quality, I think it comes from being loose with the drawing and just going with the flow.

Nigel Thornberry Drawn to Wutang Clan - Day 5/365

Day 5 Nigel Wutangberry Micron & staedtler Didn't really enjoy this one as I started it but got into a bit of a flow at a certain point. Then was a bit worn out after doing the jumper so the pants were left a little bit minimal. Was a fun drawing nonetheless - enjoyed doing it & listening to Wu-Tang Clan :D See you tomorrow

Hades' Hard Times Cafe - Day 4/365

Day 4/365 Hades & Hard Times Cafe Micron & watercolour Tired today but still got one out. Feels good. Thought this one ended up looking a bit like a 90s punk version of Hades, the greek god of the Underworld, from the Disney movie Hercules. Just went with that with the coloring.

Embrace it boys - Day 3/365

Day 3 - Enjoyed this one | Micron & watercolour Finding it quite easy so far to get out a drawing every night. Not very busy at the moment though. See how it goes.  Drew from the hip today and enjoyed it. Played with the lineweight a bit and pretty happy with this little sketch. Was a quickie because I'm quite tired but good to whip around a few watercolours. Feel I have hit a new stage of experience with watercolours - they are a tough one to crack but slowly I am getting a feel for it.

Pensive Indian boy - day 2/365

Image
Day 2/365: Pensive indian boy Only the second day and I already feel a bit apprehensive about this project. 365 days is a long time to keep something up for. Right now when I am not so busy it seems like a cake walk but as soon as things heat up a bit I think it will become much more challenging to get the drawings out. I think I will always find time somehow though. Drawing from reference currently but I'd like to get into reference-free drawing tomorrow - this is where true individual style comes through I think, for me right now what I am producing is more like an illustration; rendering an existing image in a new way.

A drawing every day for a year - day 1/365

Image
Day 1/365 - Russian aviatrix w/ micron pen I have decided to challenge myself this year to take drawing more seriously and see what can be achieved if I draw every single day for a year. I enjoy drawing but sometimes get out of the rhythm of doing it, so this will also be a way of creating a habit for myself. I did my first 'Inktober' last October and really enjoyed pumping out a drawing every day during that month, I felt I improved alot and had a great sense of accomplishment and responsibility every day. That was a trial run I hope for this project/experiment.
